Jelena

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 1 year

Our Jelena (born November 2024) knows exactly what she wants. When Jelena is in the mood for some cuddles, she leaves no doubt about it. She settles down comfortably, rolls back and forth, and waits for someone to give her attention. And of course, she enjoys every stroke to the fullest. Jelena is simply a cat who knows what she likes and shows it with great confidence. With other cats, however, Jelena doesn't quite see the point. People are simply more her thing! That's why in her new home she would most love to be the one and only princess, with her humans all to herself. Now our little personality only needs a home where she is loved and pampered and can wrap her people around her paw exactly as she likes. Jelena is looking for a home as an only princess with outdoor access.

Unsere Jelena (geb. November 2024) weiß ganz genau, was sie möchte.

About Jelena

What life with Jelena looks like

Jelena is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Kreistierheim Böblingen in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jelena, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jelena?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kreistierheim Böblingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jelena on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jelena if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kreistierheim Böblingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Jelena already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jelena isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kreistierheim Böblingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jelena and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
