Adopt Jelmez mama

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

6 mixed breed puppies and their mother have been given a chance for a happy life with the help of the Füzesabonyi Álatvédő foundation. At our shelter, they were named the Jelmez family, who were born in the wrong place at the wrong time. The little ones have all grown up to be looking for owners, so we can start moving towards a happier life with a permanent owner. Jelmez mom is still very young, born around November 2020, a medium-sized girl. In her short life, she has received very little care, she is interested in everything, she has so much energy that she would run away from the world. We especially recommend a sporty family. We don't know her relationship with other dogs yet, but she is very kind and straightforward with people. Unfortunately, despite her young age, the heartworm test done upon entering the shelter was positive, so she still needs more examinations. We will show Jelmez mom that she can also be someone's light and we are looking for a home for her where she will never have to experience anything bad again, and she can happily settle down as a real family member for the rest of her dog life. Jelmez mom is adoptable, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed.

6 keverék kölyök és mamájuk kapott esélyt a boldog életre a Füzesabonyi Álatvédő Alapítvány segítségével. Nálunk a Jelmez család nevet kapták, akik rosszkor rossz helyre születtek. About Jelmez mama

What life with Jelmez mama looks like

Jelmez mama is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Heartworm positive - requires ongoing treatment and veterinary monitoring

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jelmez mama, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jelmez mama?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jelmez mama on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jelmez mama if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jelmez mama already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jelmez mama isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jelmez mama and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
