Jenni—the hug turned dog—is searching for her forever home 🌸. .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-333 > .fusion-body .fusion-flex-container .fusion-imageframe.imageframe-38 img{aspect-ratio:1 / 1;object-position:35% 45%;} .fusion-body .fusion-builder-column-334 > Location: Animal shelter in Bosanski Brod, Bosnia and Herzegovina Date of birth: approx. Some are clowns. Some are little mischief-makers. And then there’s Jenni. Jenni is the kind of dog that feels like a warm blanket on a cold winter evening. Like a ray of sunshine streaming through the window. Like the feeling of coming home after a long day. 🤎 With her gentle eyes, soft gaze, and friendly nature, she enchants everyone who meets her. At around 55 cm tall and weighing about 30 kg, she may appear substantial, but deep down, she’s just one big cuddle buddy. Two years ago, Jenni was rescued from the streets by Cica. Since then, she’s been waiting for her own big happiness to finally begin. And honestly, we don’t understand why she’s still here. Because Jenni is one of those dogs you instantly fall in love with. She’s sweet, calm, balanced, and incredibly cuddly. No drama queen, no frantic type, no attention seeker. Jenni is simply there—with her friendly demeanor, gentle soul, and that special calmness some dogs radiate. She loves being petted, adores her people’s closeness, and would probably be the first to snuggle right up next to you on the sofa during movie night without a second thought. 🥹 Jenni gets along well with other dogs. She doesn’t necessarily need very dominant female dogs in her life. When encountering cats outdoors, she’s so far remained unobtrusive. We can easily picture Jenni joining families looking for a loyal companion for everyday life. Shared walks, relaxed outings, cozy afternoons in the garden, or cuddle sessions on the sofa—she’d probably consider all of this the greatest happiness in the world. She doesn’t need constant action to be happy. What Jenni really seeks is something far more precious: people who love her. People who stay. People who show her that she’ll never again have to fight for her place in this world. Because Jenni has so much love to give that it almost feels unfair that she’s still waiting for her family. Some dogs win your heart. Jenni just moves in and makes it her home. .fusion-body .fusion-button Interested in adopting? About Jenni

What life with Jenni looks like

Jenni is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Nordic Strays e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jenni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jenni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nordic Strays e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jenni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jenni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nordic Strays e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jenni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jenni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nordic Strays e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jenni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
