Jenny

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Jenny, the Supergirl Jenny is a real ray of sunshine – young, funny and full of life! Unfortunately, she was given up at the shelter due to lack of time and is now looking for people who can live up to her. Jenny loves attention, action and variety. She is very intelligent and wants to be both physically and mentally challenged. Whether it's walks, search games or joint training – with Jenny, it will definitely never get boring! She generally gets along well with other dogs, but also shows jealousy sometimes. Therefore, she would be happiest as a single princess. Jenny loves driving, can stay alone for a short time after sufficient activity and is friendly towards children – these should be firm, however, because Jenny can be a bit stormy at times out of joy. Water is her great passion – she swims and splashes around for her life! Grooming is no problem for her either: brushing and bathing are something she enjoys visibly. Since Jenny is still a young dog, she needs consistent, loving upbringing. With the right guidance, she will become an amazing companion who builds a close bond with her people and is very affectionate. However, it takes people with dog experience and leadership qualities for the pubescent Jenny. Jenny has an incredible sense when people are not authentic and only pretend to be strong. She immediately notices if their people "hesitate", act unclear or are inconsistent. From a dog's point of view, this is a normal process to "take over" when the human is obviously unable. This does not mean meaningless harshness, but real leadership, benevolent, immediate, forward-looking and confident. If Jenny has such a person, then this person has a dog that you can only rave about. Jenny does everything for her people and if the task distribution is really clear once, she doesn't constantly ask, but is happy to have finally found her people. Ideal for Jenny would be an active, dog-experienced family or sporty people who enjoy working with a clever and motivated dog together. Conclusion: Jenny is a gem – lively, eager to learn, loving, affectionate and full of energy. Whoever wins her heart and does not shy away from upbringing work gets a real treasure. She is highly intelligent, learns quickly, sometimes has a charming stubbornness and a lot of charm. The most important thing Jenny needs is a real task, wants to work, e.g. search dog sport or agility, and experience real adventures with her people. Back to our animals Become a sponsor

About Jenny

What life with Jenny looks like

Jenny is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Koblenz in Koblenz.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jenny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jenny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Koblenz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jenny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jenny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Koblenz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jenny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jenny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Koblenz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jenny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
