Jenny

Pug · Female · Senior · 9 years

06-08-26 Jenny is a sweet and friendly older lady who has come to us from a breeder but has lived in a home in the past. She has a gentle, affectionate nature and loves to show her love by giving little kisses and gently nibbling your fingers, which is her own special way of asking for attention. Jenny is a lovely girl who can be a little timid at times, so she is looking for a calm and peaceful home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by love and kindness. She would thrive with adopters who are happy to let her settle at her own pace and enjoy a quieter way of life. Jenny would like another kind and calm resident dog in her new home to be her friend and companion. She is fine with cats and so could also be homed with a dog savvy cat. As Jenny has previously lived in a home, she should already be familiar with many aspects of family life, including house training, although she may need a little reminder as she settles into a new routine. She is in a foster home right now and is doing well with house training, but does sometimes have accidents. She can already walk well on a lead and will enjoy going on walks with her new family. Jenny is a truly wonderful older lady who has so much love to give. She is looking for a calm, caring home where she can relax, be cherished, and enjoy all the comforts she deserves. In return, she will make a loyal and loving companion. Jenny has come to us with severe dry eye and a small lump that at this time, does not need to be removed. She will receive treatment for her dry eye and this may need to be continued in the home. She has arrived with many teeth missing and has had a further 3 extracted. Jenny has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog. This dog can be homed with cats.

About Jenny

What life with Jenny looks like

Jenny is a small senior pug dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jenny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jenny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jenny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jenny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jenny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jenny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jenny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
