Jerome is een prachtige kater die al heel zijn leven de vrijheid heeft gehad om zijn eigen ding te doen. Hij leefde samen met verschillende andere katten en dat was geen probleem. Hij heeft net als de andere katten uit zijn kolonie wat tijd nodig om je te vertrouwen, maar eens de band er is, ontpopt hij zich al snel tot een echte knuffelkoning die al wel eens op je schouders kan komen hangen. Hij is geen kinderen gewoon en door zijn toch wat terughoudende karakter plaatsen we hem niet bij jonge kinderen.
