Jerry

Pug · Male · Puppy · 1 month

We have 4 gorgeous puppies that were born here at the Cornwall Centre. Their Mum (Trixie), who is a Pug, sadly got brought into us as a stray and then soon gave birth to these beautiful pups. We have no idea what breed the Dad is!All pups are lovely and healthy and have been having regular vet checks since they were born.Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for you!!!!) Jerry is still looking for his new home due to the application we selected and matched him to not being able to commit at this time. Jerry is the biggest of the litter and is a real chunk! He is also like his brother and a bit more sensitive than the girls so will suit a home with older teenage children or adults. We are looking for responsible new owners who have considered and understand what taking on a puppy entails and who will be prepared for how much work is involved in caring for such a young dog.The puppies will not be ready to leave here until they are at least 8 weeks of old and will be going home with a puppy pack that will include everything you and your pup will need, so their adoption fee will reflect this and will be discussed with applicants. About Jerry

What life with Jerry looks like

Jerry is a puppy/kitten pug dog waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jerry, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jerry?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jerry on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jerry if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jerry already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jerry isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jerry and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
