Jerry

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Name: Jerry Gender: Male Age: Adult Health: Fully vaccinated, healthy Jerry is a very special dog – a quiet, gentle character who has already endured a lot in his life. He was rescued in 2019 together with over 60 other dogs from a Korean puppy farm. Since then, Jerry has been working step by step to build trust and learn the world anew. His fear of people used to be so great that he would freeze at their sight. Today, he takes treats cautiously from his primary caregiver's hand and can be relaxed in the same room with people he knows and trusts. Every small progress is a huge success for Jerry – and shows how brave this wonderful dog actually is. Jerry is a quiet, peace-loving dog who avoids conflict and chaos. He gets along excellently with other dogs. He plays nicely in the garden, remaining always calm and respectful. As a single dog, Jerry would be happy as long as he has a safe retreat and loving people by his side. He loves quiet moments, enjoys being alone, and relishes strolling peacefully through the garden. Walks are still in development – with patience, trust, and a strong bond, Jerry can learn to enjoy them too. For Jerry, we are looking for a quiet home with patient people who do not expect quick progress but can celebrate the small steps. A regulated daily routine, little chaos, and much understanding would help him settle in permanently. Jerry is not a dog who demands attention by being loud. But who spends time with him will witness how trust slowly grows from fear – and how a surprisingly gentle soul hides behind his cautious nature. 💛🐶 Link to pictures and videos of the dog:

💛🐶 Link zu Bilder und Videos vom Hund / Link to pictures and videos of the dog:

About Jerry

What life with Jerry looks like

Jerry is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at German Hands meet Korean Paws e.V. in Ebstorf.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jerry, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jerry?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. German Hands meet Korean Paws e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jerry on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jerry if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — German Hands meet Korean Paws e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jerry already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jerry isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with German Hands meet Korean Paws e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jerry and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
