Jerry und Samira

Mixed Breed · Male

Jerry und Samira Breed: Wether Mix Dwarf Rabbit Gender: Samira: female; Jerry: male, neutered Date of Birth: Samira: early 2024; Jerry: 2022 Appearance: Samira's fur is deep black, Jerry is snow white. Both have droopy ears. Jerry has blue eyes that are quite light-sensitive, so he often squints. That's why they are at the animal shelter: The previous owners of Samira and Jerry can no longer properly care for them due to health reasons. Health: Jerry has a mild malocclusion of the back teeth. His previous owners took him to the vet every three months for tooth filing. His people should therefore observe him well while eating to make sure he doesn't have any problems. Otherwise, no other issues. Temperament: Jerry und Samira are a very friendly and balanced pair. Jerry is the quieter of the two, even at the vet, he is usually surprisingly cool. Jerry has a good food radar and finds everything edible – wherever it is. Samira is a small-eared one. She is curious, attentive, and lively. With her clever little head, she sometimes tricks her people. The two complement each other perfectly and are very attached to each other. We wish for Jerry und Samira a nice home with some rabbit experience where the two can be spoiled with healthy food and make exciting hop excursions around the house every day. General Husbandry Notes: Rabbits do not like to spend their time in a cage. They want to hop around as much as possible in the house. It is best if they have a large run or their own room. As a retreat option, they need a wooden house or cardboard boxes. The most important food for rabbits is hay, hay, and more hay. Only by gnawing on hay can they wear their teeth as nature intended. In addition, a daily ration of fresh food (vegetables, but no or very little fruit) is important. Fresh water should always be available. Dry food should only be offered sparingly or as a treat. Nibbles, crackers, and similar are marketing gimmicks by food manufacturers and are more harmful to rabbits. For inquiries and advice:

About Jerry und Samira

What life with Jerry und Samira looks like

Jerry und Samira is a large adult mixed breed rabbit waiting at Tierheim Feucht in Feucht.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jerry und Samira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jerry und Samira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Feucht handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jerry und Samira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jerry und Samira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Feucht will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jerry und Samira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jerry und Samira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Feucht early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jerry und Samira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
