Jetson

Border Collie Β· Male Β· Young Β· 1 year

Jetson is a frisky little fellow, on the timid side but he comes alive when he's out exploring. He worries a little about being handled, but lots of quiet encouragement and treats are working wonders. Jetson does show a lot of typical Collie traits, he's rather watchful and always likes to be moving, and if his new family have no experience, they would do well to read up on the breed. We don't think Jetson has seen much of the world in his short time and his adopters can help him by taking a slow approach to everything and not expecting too much of him too quickly. He has shown a lot of delight in playing with balls and a flirt pole, and may well have a natural aptitude for Sheepball and other herding games. Jetson seems to be interested in meeting other dogs, and relaxes as the interactions goes on. He would benefit from having some calm friends that he can walk with whilst he learns a little more about how to "dog". Jetson can live with teenagers but no other pets, due to a lack of socialisation. We have no history for him so cannot guarantee that he is house trained or used to spending time home alone. Ideally, Jetson would be in a home away from busy roads as he does not like traffic.

About Jetson

What life with Jetson looks like

Jetson is a young adult border collie dog waiting at Dogs Trust Merseyside in Liverpool.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jetson, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jetson?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Merseyside handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jetson on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jetson if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Merseyside will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Jetson already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jetson isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Merseyside early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jetson and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
