Adopt Jewel
Pomeranian · Female · Young · 1 year
Jewel could live with children aged 13+. She could potentially live with another dog and cats or small animals, although we have no history of her behaviour around such animals. Jewel is a sweet little lady who currently finds the world a bit of an overwhelming place! She massively lacks in confidence and appears to have missed out on some of the early training and socialisation she should’ve had – she isn’t a big fan of being walked and requires ongoing training to become accustomed to being on a lead. Jewel hasn’t shown much interest in other dogs whilst here – which may be because she finds the shelter environment stressful. If she were to go home with another dog, they would need to be of a calm and placid nature to allow her to come out of her shell. Jewel needs an understanding family who can work on helping her build her confidence and learn how to be a dog. Although we have no doubt her forever family will spoil her rotten – the right family will also understand that she deserves the same socialisation, training and confidence development as any other dog and that she will require time, patience and commitment whilst she finds her feet and makes sense of this big, overwhelming world! A home with experience of small, timid dogs would be beneficial for Jewel. Sadly, Jewel was brought into our care after being found as a stray and so we have no background information on her life prior to arriving here at the shelter. She is still such a young girl and she so deserves to have the safety and security of a loving forever home that she should’ve always known.
