adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Jimbo has found his people! His story: Jimbo – small, playful, and adventurous, is looking for his own family! Are you ready to take in the little delight Jimbo and make him a part of your family? Nobody can resist the charming gaze of the little charmer Jimbo. It's time for him to find his own place and family connection. He is very people-oriented, gets along well with other dogs, and loves to be the center of attention. Jimbo is currently 4 months old and will be around medium-sized. His mother is a Mudi mix and about 45 cm tall. Black with sweet white paws, he wants to explore the world with you in big strides. He is athletic, lively, and will love to do something with his people. Puppy-like, he is a young and playful explorer, searching for a safe environment to grow into an alert and balanced male dog. The little Jimbo is looking for his own people who won't expect much from him at first and will show him how a normal and safe dog life works. He is still very young and needs to learn a lot according to his age. The dog ABC must be taught with a positively reinforcing training style – starting with house training, leash walking, sit, stay, come. In the first year of life, dogs should be left alone as little as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is still ahead. And it affects every dog, whether small or large, male or female. The hormone chaos turns the little one's world upside down. They "forget" much of what they have learned, and their ears are on high alert. Therefore, it is especially important to train consistently but lovingly during this phase. And there is also good news: Just like with us humans, this phase will pass! And what remains is a loyal dog soul with which you can hopefully spend many years together, enjoy walks together, and collect new experiences. The little Jimbo is microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed. He brings his EU pet passport and can be visited at his foster home. He looks forward to loving people. Many thanks, Jane! You gave Jimbo his name! Date: 01.05.

Vielen Dank Jane! Du hast Jimbo seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 01.05.2024

About Jimbo

What life with Jimbo looks like

Jimbo is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jimbo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jimbo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jimbo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jimbo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jimbo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jimbo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jimbo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
