Jimmi

Female · Adult · 5 years

Jimmi is a gentle and affectionate soul looking for a quiet and peaceful home. He doesn't like too much chaos around him. Instead, he enjoys calm walks and cozy cuddle sessions. He may have some difficulty letting new people in, but once he does, he's a wonderful companion who just wants to be close to you. Jimmi has a condition called Alopecia X, which causes him to lose hair on parts of his body, including his hindquarters and tail. This doesn't hurt him or cause him any discomfort, but it does require some moisturizing cream and a sweater when needed. A castration might also help reduce his stress. Jimmi is a very cautious dog who needs time and patience. Once he feels comfortable, he'll come up and snuggle in your lap. He's not very interested in other dogs and prefers they keep their distance. If other dogs get too close, he'll show it by growling and seeking comfort from his human. A home without other animals is best for Jimmi. He has shown tendencies to defend his bedding space in the past, so that's something to keep in mind. He'll show this by running up and marking with his nose on your foot, for example. This is something we believe will improve over time as he becomes more comfortable. Handling like wiping his eyes has gone well, but as the cautious dog he is, you need to take it slow and at his pace. Jimmi is looking for a home without other animals, and also without children. He needs to feel as calm and secure as possible. Someone who lives in a more rural area or a place with a quieter environment. Preferably with a calm and routine-based lifestyle. He needs someone who doesn't make high demands, but instead gives him a secure, calm, and clear start in his new home. You need to understand that he won't be comfortable right away, but it will take time before he feels at home. Once he does, you'll have a wonderful friend who loves to be close and go on cozy walks. It's an advantage if you have experience with fearful and insecure dogs to give him the best possible start.

About Jimmi

What life with Jimmi looks like

Jimmi is an adult dog waiting at Hundstallet in Stockholm.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jimmi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jimmi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundstallet handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jimmi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jimmi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundstallet will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Jimmi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jimmi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundstallet early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jimmi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
