Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

💙 Jinx 💙 ANDY (ANITA) 📍 Location: Ö, Styria, Stainz Facility - can be visited 🐾 Mixed breed 📅 Born: May 14, 2024 📏 Height: approx. 60 cm ⚖ Weight: approx. 25 kg 💉 Health: vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, EU pet passport available ♿ Special: Jinx lives happily and actively with three legs 🤝 Compatibility with others: ✅ People: Very people-oriented, loves closeness and cuddles ✅ Dogs: Friendly and playful - though can be food-aggressive at mealtime, separate feeding areas are recommended ❓ Cats: Not tested ❓ Children: Likely compatible, but better suited for children who are more stable Jinx's Story 📖 Jinx's life path is marked by incredible resilience: Found on the street in a near-lifeless condition, with his front leg attached only by skin. No one knows how long he endured in this terrible state. In the clinic, veterinarians fought tirelessly for his life. Unfortunately, his leg could not be saved - since then, Jinx has lived on three legs, which in no way limits him. Character & Behavior 💛 🐾 Affectionate & people-oriented - Jinx always seeks closeness with his people. 🐶 Social with dogs - Plays happily with fellow animals, loves shared activities. ⚽ Active & cheerful - Despite the handicap, he runs and plays just like any other dog. 🛋️ Relaxed & clever - Lies down when tired, prefers to eat while lying down or from an elevated food bowl. ⚠ Food-aggressive - Gets nervous at mealtime if other dogs come too close. Jinx's Dream Home 🏡 💛 A home with lots of love, patience, and safety. 🌳 A garden is preferred, but he is also suitable as an apartment dog as long as he gets enough exercise. 🐕 An affable second dog would be ideal if feeding is clearly regulated. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 A loving environment that accepts him as he is - a dog with a big heart and even bigger joy in life. How You Can Help 💌 🏡 Adopt - Give Jinx his forever home where he can finally belong. 🐾 Foster home - Support him until he is adopted. 🎁 Sponsorship or donation - Help secure his care and veterinary support. About Jinx

What life with Jinx looks like

Jinx is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hund sucht Hütte in Austria.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jinx, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jinx?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hund sucht Hütte handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jinx on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jinx if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hund sucht Hütte will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jinx already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jinx isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hund sucht Hütte early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jinx and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
