Are you the aware owner who gives Jip the trust in the world back entirely? Jip is a charming mixed breed who ended up at our animal shelter due to a divorce. He carries a backpack with him, but someone who looks beyond his uncertainty will find a companion for life. Character & Cuddle Moments Jip is a 'slow approach' dog. Unexpected touches and being led around are exciting for him, but once the ice is broken and he trusts you, his true nature emerges: Jip then gladly makes contact and comes lovely to cuddle with you. In the forest he is completely in his element. He loves walks where he has plenty of time for his greatest hobby: sniffing. He discovers the world with his nose and visibly enjoys the calm around him. Tip: Jip is very good to pacify with his treats. This makes training and building a bond much easier and more fun! Health & Nutrition Jip has a sensitive stomach, but we have good news: he is currently doing very well on hypoallergenic treats. His intestines have finally calmed down. We recommend the new owner to continue this diet for now. Once Jip is completely settled and the move stress is behind him, it can be looked into further about food he reacts well to. Jip has a coat that requires regular care. Because he sometimes finds touch exciting, it is essential that you, as the new owner, look for an experienced groomer who is patient and knows how to handle an uncertain dog. A good connection at the grooming salon is half the work for Jip! What does Jip need? Patient guidance: Someone who can 'read' his body language and gives him space to make contact at his own pace. Time & presence: Being alone at home is currently very difficult for him. We are looking for a place where someone is almost always at home in the beginning to build this up very calmly. Quiet household: Given his uncertainty and need for predictability, we place Jip only in an environment without young children. Gezocht: een hondenkenner met geduld en begrip ❤️Jip zoekt een rustig en stabiel thuis bij iemand die ervaring heeft met honden en begrijpt dat vertrouwen tijd kost.Jip werd als pup geadopteerd en heeft ruim vijf jaar bij zijn vorige eigenaren gewoond. Door omstandigheden kwam hij uiteindelijk bij ons in het asiel terecht. We gunnen hem nu een plek waar hij voor altijd mag blijven.Een gevoelige hondJip is gevoelig en heeft tijd nodig om nieuwe mensen te leren kennen. Onverwachte aanrakingen en het aanlijnen kunnen hij spannend vinden. Wanneer zijn grenzen worden overschreden, kan hij vanuit onzekerheid fel reageren. Zijn nieuwe eigenaar moet daarom goed zijn lichaamstaal kunnen lezen en hem de ruimte geven.Wanneer hij je vertrouwt, laat Jip een heel andere kant zien. Hij is aanhankelijk, graag bij je en geniet enorm van aandacht en een heerlijk kroelmoment.Wandelen en andere dierenJip is heerlijk om mee te wandelen. Hij heeft geen jachtgedrag en andere dieren hebben weinig van hem te vrezen. In het bos geniet hij volop van snuffelen en ontdekken.Wanneer hij je goed kent, kan hij prima loslopen. In contact met andere honden is hij terughoudend maar nieuwsgierig.Jip kan samenleven met een andere hond, maar bij voorkeur met een teefje. Samenleven met een andere reu vinden we minder passend. Ook met katten kan hij goed, zolang de katten hem in huis accepteren.Duidelijke grenzenJip is erg voergevoelig en daardoor goed te motiveren tijdens training. Wel moet hij tijdens het eten met rust worden gelaten. Ook zijn speeltje deelt hij liever niet; het is belangrijk om hem niet te storen wanneer hij hiermee bezig is.Daarom zoeken we voor Jip een kindvrij en rustig huishouden. Een druk gezin past niet bij hem.Alleen thuis blijvenAlleen thuis blijven is een aandachtspunt. Jip heeft dit bij zijn vorige eigenaren eigenlijk nooit goed geleerd en kan op dit moment niet alleen zijn.Een nieuwe eigenaar moet hier dus serieus rekening mee houden. Vanuit het asiel kunnen we hierbij op afstand begeleiding bieden, maar het vraagt veel tijd, geduld en inzet van zijn nieuwe eigenaar.Gezondheid en verzorgingJip heeft gevoelige darmen en krijgt hypoallergeen voer.Daarnaast heeft hij een gescheurde knieband. Hij heeft hier opvallend weinig last van, maar moet voorlopig rustig aan doen. Afhankelijk van het herstel kan een operatie nodig zijn. Als dat nodig blijkt, zijn de kosten voor het asiel.Ook zijn vacht vraagt regelmatig onderhoud. Omdat aanrakingen spannend kunnen zijn, zoeken we een eigenaar die dit rustig wil opbouwen. Een ervaren, geduldige trimmer is hierbij belangrijk.Wie zoeken we voor Jip?Voor Jip zoeken we iemand die:ervaring heeft met honden en lichaamstaal goed kan lezen;rustig en geduldig is;geen kinderen heeft en in een rustig huishouden woont;rekening houdt met zijn grenzen rondom eten en speelgoed;het leuk vindt om met hem te wandelen en samen vertrouwen op te bouwen.Jip is zindelijk, kan goed mee op pad en heeft in het verleden bijvoorbeeld prima mee naar een terras gekund.Hij is geen hond voor iedereen.
