Are you the aware owner who gives Jip the trust in the world back entirely? Jip is a charming mixed breed who ended up at our animal shelter due to a divorce. He carries a backpack with him, but someone who looks beyond his uncertainty will find a companion for life. Character & Cuddle Moments Jip is a 'slow approach' dog. Unexpected touches and being led around are exciting for him, but once the ice is broken and he trusts you, his true nature emerges: Jip then gladly makes contact and comes lovely to cuddle with you. In the forest he is completely in his element. He loves walks where he has plenty of time for his greatest hobby: sniffing. He discovers the world with his nose and visibly enjoys the calm around him. Tip: Jip is very good to pacify with his treats. This makes training and building a bond much easier and more fun! Health & Nutrition Jip has a sensitive stomach, but we have good news: he is currently doing very well on hypoallergenic treats. His intestines have finally calmed down. We recommend the new owner to continue this diet for now. Once Jip is completely settled and the move stress is behind him, it can be looked into further about food he reacts well to. Jip has a coat that requires regular care. Because he sometimes finds touch exciting, it is essential that you, as the new owner, look for an experienced groomer who is patient and knows how to handle an uncertain dog. A good connection at the grooming salon is half the work for Jip! What does Jip need? Patient guidance: Someone who can 'read' his body language and gives him space to make contact at his own pace. Time & presence: Being alone at home is currently very difficult for him. We are looking for a place where someone is almost always at home in the beginning to build this up very calmly. Quiet household: Given his uncertainty and need for predictability, we place Jip only in an environment without young children. Gezocht: een hondenkenner met geduld en begrip ❤️Ben jij die bewuste, lieve eigenaar die Jip de tijd en het vertrouwen kan geven om zich weer veilig te voelen?Jip werd als pup geadopteerd door een ouder stel. Na zes weken kwam hij terug bij zijn vorige eigenaren, bij wie hij gelukkig ruim vijf jaar heeft mogen wonen. Helaas gingen zij uit elkaar en kwam Jip uiteindelijk bij ons in het asiel terecht. Voor hem zijn we nu op zoek naar een liefdevol en stabiel thuis waar hij écht voor altijd mag blijven.Een hond die tijd nodig heeftJip heeft even de tijd nodig om je te leren kennen. Maar wanneer hij je eenmaal vertrouwt, krijg je er een ontzettend trouw en fijn hondenmaatje voor terug.Onverwachte aanrakingen en het aanlijnen vindt Jip spannend. Wanneer zijn grenzen worden overschreden, kan hij vanuit onzekerheid en onmacht fel reageren. Daarom is het belangrijk dat zijn toekomstige eigenaar ervaring heeft met honden en goed kan kijken naar lichaamstaal en subtiele signalen van spanning. Jip vraagt iemand die hem begrijpt, zijn grenzen respecteert en hem de ruimte geeft om op zijn eigen tempo vertrouwen op te bouwen.Wanneer Jip zich veilig voelt, zie je een heel andere kant van hem. Hij geniet van rustige wandelingen waarbij hij alle tijd krijgt om uitgebreid te snuffelen en de omgeving in zich op te nemen.Jip is bovendien erg voergevoelig, en dat is een mooi voordeel. Met zijn brokjes kun je op een positieve en rustige manier met hem trainen. Zo kun je stap voor stap zijn vertrouwen winnen en een mooie band met hem opbouwen.Jip heeft in het verleden vaak zijn eigenaren vergezeld, bijvoorbeeld naar een terras. Dat deed hij hartstikke goed. Ook op andere plekken gedroeg hij zich voorbeeldig. Hij kan dus prima mee op pad, zolang hij vanuit huis een rustige en stabiele basis krijgt.Gezondheid en verzorgingJip heeft op dit moment wat extra zorg nodig. Hij heeft gevoelige darmen en krijgt daarom hypoallergeen voer.Daarnaast heeft hij een gescheurde knieband. Daar merk je bij hem verrassend weinig van: hij loopt en rent nog steeds alsof er niets aan de hand is. Toch is rust op dit moment belangrijk voor zijn herstel. Afhankelijk van hoe zijn knie zich ontwikkelt, kan het op termijn alsnog nodig zijn om hem te opereren. Mocht dat nodig zijn, dan draagt het asiel de kosten hiervan.Ook zijn vacht vraagt regelmatig onderhoud. Omdat aanrakingen voor Jip spannend kunnen zijn, zoeken we iemand die hier thuis rustig mee aan de slag wil gaan. Daarnaast is het belangrijk dat er een geduldige trimmer wordt gevonden die ervaring heeft met onzekere honden en Jip op een rustige, positieve manier kan begeleiden.Een rustige en stabiele omgevingVoor Jip zoeken we een stabiel huishouden met mensen die bewust kiezen voor een hond als hij. Een druk gezin of een huishouden met kinderen is voor hem niet geschikt. Hij heeft vooral behoefte aan rust, voorspelbaarheid en mensen die hem goed kunnen lezen.Ook alleen thuis blijven is een aandachtspunt. Bij zijn vorige eigenaren vond Jip dit erg moeilijk; hij heeft dit eigenlijk nooit goed geleerd. Daarom zal er in het begin een oppas of andere oplossing nodig zijn wanneer hij niet mee kan. Vanuit het asiel kan hierin begeleiding worden geboden.Een tweede kans voor JipJip heeft de afgelopen tijd behoorlijk wat pech gehad.
