Adopt Joanne (w)

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Here we would like to introduce you to JOANNE, born on 21.06.24, approximately 30 cm, who has already been living in the shelter since puppy age. Does she have the wrong color? Is it because she has no tail? We don't understand. She is absolutely people-oriented, very well compatible with her fellow animals, and the size is perfect, or? Just think, dogs without tails can be so happy when the whole dog Samba does the happy dance. The dogs don't mind, they are not restricted by this. Therefore, an adoption to Switzerland is unfortunately not possible. Does she have to wait longer for inquiries because of this??? We want to change this quickly and bring her into the world. DO YOU HAVE A SILK PAWS? No problem, at Madalina's shelter we can also do cat tests. HAVE YOU ALSO Fallen in love with her wonderful brown eyes like we did??? Then get in touch quickly, JOANNE could still be traveling out in June. JOANNE will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and will travel with a Snap4D test and EU-Pass. She will be rehomed with V. All our dogs come to and would also like to be picked up in 91278 Pottenstein. Contact: or on fb. All our dogs travel with official trace papers and of course we also have Paragraph 11.

About Joanne (w)

What life with Joanne (w) looks like

Joanne (w) is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Joanne (w), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Joanne (w)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Joanne (w) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Joanne (w) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Joanne (w) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Joanne (w) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Joanne (w) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
