Adopt Jodie

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

Name: Jodie Breed: mixed breed Gender: female, neutered Size: 47 cm Weight: 20 kg Age: 10.03.2016 In the animal shelter since: 20.07.2020 If you are interested in Jodie, please answer the following six questions in your inquiry first: 1. How many people live in your household? 2. Are there children in the house? If yes, how many and how old? 3. Are there other pets in the house? If yes, which ones? 4. What is the living situation (house/apartment? floor? garden?) 5. How many hours would the dog be alone each day? (Please note: supervision must be provided by adults. Children do not count for supervision!) 6. Do you already have dog experience? 7. Your year of birth? For Jodie, a DNA test would definitely be very interesting – she has some rather fascinating personality traits. She is very clever and learns quickly and willingly, but has a rather poor impulse control, especially in relation to her fellow animals. We can't count how many failed socialization attempts she has had because she behaves like the princess on the pea – out of fear, she behaves overly grumpy, which most dogs can't handle. She would rather be a solitary princess and would prefer to be the only one in the world. Jodie needs people she can trust, so she doesn't feel like she has to make decisions. This often leads to chaos. For her, consistency is very important. If you can handle that, you will find a very devoted lifelong friend in her, who is clingy and with whom you can have many adventures. She will not be rehomed with other animals or children and is a dog for very experienced, confident, and steadfast people who do not live in the city and have enough time for her. Do you have a question about this animal? Please call us: Tues, Fri 15-17 and Sat 14-17 or write to us. Some of our fosterlings may need to be more patient in their search for an appropriate home due to illness, age, or special character traits. To make their time with us as pleasant as possible, we rely on the financial support of animal friends. By adopting a sponsorship, you help us with the daily and medical care and housing of our animals. Sponsorships are possible from a monthly contribution of 10 euros. You can also set the amount of your contribution as you see fit. As a thank you, you will receive an individually designed sponsorship certificate and will be mentioned as a sponsor on our homepage and our Facebook page.

Name: Jodie Rasse: Mischling Geschlecht: weiblich kastriert Größe: 47 cm Gewicht: 20 kg Alter: 10.03.2016 Im Tierheim seit: 20.07.2020 Wenn Sie Interesse an Jodie haben, beantworten Sie uns in Ihrer Anfrage bitte zuerst die folgenden sechs Fragen:1. Wie viele Personen leben im Haushalt?2. Leben Kinder im Haus? Wenn ja, wie viele und wie alt?3. Leben andere Tiere im Haus? Wenn ja, welche?4. Wie ist die Wohnsituation (Haus/Wohnung? Stockwerk? Garten?)5.

About Jodie

What life with Jodie looks like

Jodie is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at BMT Tierheim Pfullingen in Pfullingen.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jodie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jodie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. BMT Tierheim Pfullingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jodie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jodie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — BMT Tierheim Pfullingen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jodie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jodie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with BMT Tierheim Pfullingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jodie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
