adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Jojo can stay forever in his foster home! His story: Jojo has been in his foster home since early April. Within days, he has already made small and wonderful progress. At first, he didn't want to leave his lovingly furnished room, but after a week, he dares to venture out and explore the apartment with its lying opportunities. Jojo also lets himself be stroked with a treat, and his body language already shows that he is beginning to feel comfortable. Wagging his tail, he approaches his first steps in the household. In short, there's still room for improvement with Jojo, but we are sure that Jojo will make further progress in the coming weeks. Jojo came from the Shelter Baia Mare to Germany. There, he spent the last years in a dreary everyday life. So much the more we were happy that he was finally given a chance and was able to catch the ticket to a happier life. Jojo is approximately 6 years old and about 65 cm tall. A beautiful male dog. His story is unknown, and what he has experienced, we simply do not know. If Jojo could speak, we would be wiser. For Jojo, we are looking for empathetic, loving people who are willing to give him the time he needs. Jojo has to learn family life again, for which he needs peace, a lot of patience, and love. A rural home without many distractions with a garden would be ideal for him. Retreat options should be given. No high expectations, Jojo will determine his own pace. Children are not seen in his new life. Jojo will be neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas in his new home. He will of course bring a valid pet ID with him. Who gives Jojo the chance at a nice home? Many thanks Stephanie S.! Your nametag was the first step in a new life! Heartfelt thanks Angela S.! You support Jojo with a monthly paternity. As of: 15.04.

Lieben Dank Angela S.! Du unterstützt Jojo mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft. Stand: 15.04.2025

About Jojo

What life with Jojo looks like

Jojo is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jojo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jojo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jojo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jojo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jojo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jojo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jojo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
