Jolene

Dachshund · Female · Puppy · 2 months

09-09-26 Jolene is a super sweet little girl was brought into our care as part of a litter seized by the local police as they were living in poor conditions. They are now in safe hands and looking forward to brighter, happier futures. She is a lovely, friendly puppy who adores people and has lots of energy. She is a typical young pup who is keen to explore the world and have some fun. She has a slightly bald patch under her eye. Jolene gets on wonderfully with other dogs, so she would be happy to share her home with others. However, she is confident enough that she would also be equally happy being the only dog in the home, as long as her adopters are around enough to keep her company. As a young puppy, she will need to learn all about house training, lead training and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to be prepared for the usual challenges of having a young puppy and be willing to put the time into her training and socialisation. Jolene could share her home with older, dog-savvy children who can appreciate and understand that she will need a gentle introduction to the home, her own space to settle in and plenty of gentle handling. She will need to be spayed when she is old enough, and adopters will be asked to sign a disclaimer at the time of adoption. She will also need to attend puppy training classes to help her learn good manners and how to behave appropriately when out and about. She is a gorgeous little girl with a lovely personality, and we think she is going to be such a fun addition to the right family. With plenty of love, patience and training, Jolene has a wonderful future ahead of her. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Jolene

What life with Jolene looks like

Jolene is a puppy/kitten dachshund dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jolene, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jolene?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jolene on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jolene if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jolene already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jolene isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jolene and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
