Jolie

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 8 months

Jolie is a 8-month-old, 21cm tall little dog who was found injured on the side of the road. Fortunately, she was discovered in time and was taken care of by our shelter's veterinarian before moving to our partner shelter, where she was lovingly cared for and is now ready to start a new life. Today, Jolie's difficult past is barely visible. She is a happy, lively, and loving dog who enjoys life to the fullest. She runs around with joy, loves to play, and brings smiles with her cute nature. As a curious little mouse, she wants to be everywhere and is eager to explore. She especially loves cats and is very friendly towards them. Jolie is also very social with other dogs and approaches them with interest and affection. Many people wonder about her injury. Jolie was x-rayed and examined by a veterinarian. The fracture is healing on its own, and she is already using all four legs again and coping very well in everyday life. Since the injury is old, surgery is no longer necessary. To support her in the long term, physiotherapy in her new home could be useful.Jolie is looking for people who don't define her by her past, but give her the future she deserves. People who enjoy her happy nature, play with her, cuddle with her, and experience many beautiful years together. This little magical mouse has proven how strong she is. Now all she needs is the most important thing: a family that loves her from the bottom of their hearts and shows her that she has finally arrived.Maybe the happy ending Jolie has been hoping for is waiting for you. Please note:The feedback from the shelters reflects the current behavior of the dogs here.

About Jolie

What life with Jolie looks like

Jolie is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jolie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jolie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jolie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jolie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jolie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jolie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jolie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
