Jolly (vermittelt)

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Name Jolly Born June 2018 Gender male dog, neutered Breed mixed breed Size ca. 40 cm foster home Jolly arrived well at his foster home in Mörfelden on January 23, 2021. The ages mentioned here are often estimates, as we don't always know the exact age. Other details, such as size, are subjective. Jolly is a lively, spirited young man who is very happy to interact with people. Bold and cheerful, he takes in all new impressions positively. He lives at his foster home with a cat that has a lot of dog experience. This works well. He is house-trained and, indoors, a rather quiet roommate who very much enjoys snuggling with his people. Outdoors, he is still a bit "hyper" and sometimes forgets when the leash is supposed to be on, but that is being practiced diligently. He is sometimes a real sprinter and bravely jumps over logs and stones. A garden to play in would definitely be a hit. He gets along well with all dogs and tries to encourage play, but he is not pushy. He would also make a great second dog. We could also present Jolly to beginners who would like to do something with him and help him learn dog manners. Jolly is also friendly with children, but they should be already quite confident. Driving is no problem. He relaxes and enjoys the ride. He is still not used to being alone. The little JOLLY was incredibly happy that people had come to his small kennel. He is a friendly and playful male dog who would so much like to finally be a dog. JOLLY is young, agile, and full of energy, but on his few square meters, there is nothing that can distract JOLLY from his dreary life. We hope that the nice male dog can find a place in the heart of a family and be allowed to leave the animal shelter once more. About Jolly (vermittelt)

What life with Jolly (vermittelt) looks like

Jolly (vermittelt) is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jolly (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jolly (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jolly (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jolly (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jolly (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jolly (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jolly (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
