Adopt Jonny C

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Name Jonny C. Born around July 2025 Gender male dog Breed mixed breed Size will be medium foster home Jonny is still in the country with our Romanian animal protection friends in Campulung. He can travel from January 2026 onwards once we find a foster home (preferably with adoption intentions) in the Mainz/Wiesbaden area. The age given here is often an estimate, as we don't always know the exact age. Other information like size is subjective. Gruesome! I wandered around alone with my siblings Nala, Racker, and Vicky on a cemetery – without a mother, without help! A friend of Oana found us and we moved into an animal shelter. We are still allowed to explore the outdoor area, play in the meadow, get to know the shelter cat who sometimes drops by, and enjoy our freedom. The cat was initially interesting, but now I ignore her. I prefer playing with the other dogs! Once we are bigger, it means the end of freedom to the adult pens, and then it's: freedom ends! I hope to find a family before then that wants to give me a home, even though as a puppy I still have to go through the entire dog 1×1. I am curious, playful, and absolutely social with my siblings, full of hope. Are you my wish-fulfiller, and will we find each other? What should my new home be like? Dog experience desirable but not necessary. We are looking for people who are willing to take on the adventure of an international dog and give him a second chance at a responsible home. The animal shelter in Campulung is also supported by a charity. If you do not live in our catchment area, it is possible to adopt a Fellnase through Soul Dogs. For more information about this great dog, please fill out the Referral Form or call us at the phone number provided. Here are a few pictures. Click an image to enlarge.

About Jonny C

What life with Jonny C looks like

Jonny C is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jonny C, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jonny C?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jonny C on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jonny C if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jonny C already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jonny C isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jonny C and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
