Jonte

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Jonte (born May 2026, currently about 45 cm tall) was found with Rosie and her three puppies. The young dog was probably abandoned and joined the small family. This was his good fortune, as it was probably the only way he could survive. Jonte is now safe with Adelina and is waiting for his own family. What Jonte is still missing for his good fortune is people who will accompany him lovingly through life and experience many adventures with him over the next 14 to 15 years. Jonte is still a real youngster, but he is already taking the first steps towards puberty. He shows himself to be a very friendly, people-oriented dog who enjoys the closeness to his caregivers. He simply loves attention, stroking and spending time together. He will probably reach a size of about 55 cm. However, we cannot say this with certainty because we do not know his parents. Like every young dog, Jonte must still learn about life in a family. He has not yet experienced life in a house or the many everyday noises and routines that are self-evident for our dogs. Housebreaking, staying alone calmly and the dog's multiplication table must also be built up step by step and with patience. With loving guidance, understanding and a bit of humor for the small challenges of the young dog age, Jonte will develop into a wonderful companion. His open, friendly nature and his people orientation bring the best prerequisites for this. Who will give this handsome fellow the chance at a happy dog life and show him how beautiful a home can be? Departure possible immediately! General note on our protégés: Our dogs in Romania are visited regularly so that we can reassess their behavior and development again and again. These personal impressions help us very much to convey a possibly good picture of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment - with new people, new processes and new impressions - can also show himself differently. This is quite normal and is part of every change process. Many dogs even open up faster at home and show sides that were not visible in the shelter. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They should give an orientation and show how the dog presents himself in the shelter - and what potential is in him. We are convinced: With patience, understanding and a loving environment, every dog can find his way and develop positively.

Jonte (geb.

About Jonte

What life with Jonte looks like

Jonte is a large puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jonte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jonte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jonte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jonte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Jonte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jonte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jonte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
