adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Joona has found her home! Her story: May we introduce her? Joona, an energetic, lively Mini-poodle, came from an unplanned litter along with her sisters Irmi and Leni. The puppies were discovered in a village near Chinteni and brought to safety – and the little mother poodle has since been spayed, so her fate won't repeat. Now, Joona lives in Cluj in a loving foster home and waits for her own home. Joona is an active, playful little poodle girl, full of curiosity and adventure at just a few months old. She loves people, is open, friendly, and always ready for play, fun, and good mood. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats are no problem for Joona – she meets them friendly and curiously. With her about 28 cm and around 4 kg, Joona is a true lightweight and is likely to stay small – perfect for those looking for a manageable, agile, and absolutely adorable family member. Since Joona is still young, she of course still needs to learn the complete puppy ABC: house training, leash walking, small rules in everyday life, being alone, and getting to know all the exciting things out there. New sounds, unknown places, and strangers are still exciting for her and need to be discovered step by step. And yes – Joona will also soon start puberty: a phase where little dogs like to try out how far they can go and sometimes forget what they've learned. With patience, loving consequences, lots of fun, and working positively with dog training classes, Joona will surely make it through this time wonderfully. Joona is vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. She can be adopted even after a positive foster home in Germany. She has her EU pet passport with her. Who falls in love with the sweet Joona and shows her what a home full of love and security can be like? Many thanks to Claudia S., who gave Joona an identity and thus a path to a better life! As of: 29.11.

Stand: 29.11.2025

About Joona

What life with Joona looks like

Joona is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Joona, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Joona?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Joona on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Joona if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Joona already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Joona isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Joona and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
