adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Josepha has found her home! Her story: The charming Josepha is an approximately 4-year-old female dog, about 30 cm tall and around 7 kg in weight – a real little gem. Currently, she lives in a foster home in Hilden, where she shows every day what a wonderful being lies within her. Josepha didn't have an easy start. Together with her puppies, she was brought to the shelter. The noise and the cramped space took a toll on the little dog family, and we were relieved when we found places for all of them in Germany. But a few days after her arrival, Josepha suddenly began to chase her own litter and developed breathing problems. In the clinic, the diagnosis followed: heartworm. Treatment was immediately started – a challenging time for Josepha and her foster home. But the good news is: Josepha is doing well again. The little female dog is very people-oriented, clingy, and enjoys every form of closeness. Snuggling is one of her greatest passions. She would prefer to be the sole princess in her new home, as the undivided attention of her people means a lot to her. She gets along well with other animals, too, including cats. Whether walks, small adventures, or just shared activities – Josepha likes to be on the move and loves to discover the world outside. She also masters car rides without a problem. Starting in January 2026, Josepha is ready for her own family. She is vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms, and can move into her new home for an adoption fee of 500 Euros. Josepha is ready to give her heart to the right people. Who will give this lovable little fighter a warm, loving home? Josepha travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, treated for worms, and has an EU pet passport. Against an adoption fee of 500 Euros and with a positive match, contact us! You have given Josepha her beautiful name! Date: 11.12.

Vielen Dank BR! About Josepha

What life with Josepha looks like

Josepha is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Josepha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Josepha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Josepha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Josepha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Josepha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Josepha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Josepha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
