Josie

Mixed Breed · Female

Josie is still so young - and yet she has already had to experience being completely on her own. 😔 Together with her friend/sister Tina, she was found on the street. Two young souls who really deserve only one thing: security, love and people who will never leave them again. 🐾❤️ If you are interested in also taking a look at Tina... ………..both can also be adopted together, but of course that doesn't have to be the case... ………..Josie has since been spayed and is about 45 cm tall. Unfortunately, she has struggled with skin problems. These are currently being treated and we very much hope that she will soon be feeling really well again. This is why she currently looks a bit shaggy, but this does not detract from her golden and warm-hearted aura. She is a very affectionate and loving dog and can't get enough of cuddles. With her golden fur, the white tip of her tail and her stylish white socks, she is a beautiful dog. Now all that is missing is the most important thing: a home of her own, where she can arrive and finally feel how wonderful a dog's life can be. She will quickly bond with her new family, she loves cuddles and can't get enough of them. She also quickly accepts other dogs, she gets on with all dogs. Josie really wants to belong, have her own bed, a family that loves her and a forever home. 🏡🙏 Who will give Josie the chance she so very much deserves? About Josie

What life with Josie looks like

Josie is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Josie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Josie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Josie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Josie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Josie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Josie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Josie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
