Joy

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Joy and her siblings Aramis, Amico, Stella, and Emily were born in a commercial area. The mother dog sought shelter there for herself and her puppies. When the puppies started to walk and move further away from the mother, it became very dangerous for the little ones. There are many cars and trucks near the shelter, and there was constant danger that the dogs could be run over. Our animal rescuers asked the police for help to capture the furry ones. Fortunately, this was also successful. Only the mother dog was not found. Since the rescue, the siblings now live in the La Solana animal shelter. Joy, like her siblings, is a curious and playful young dog. She loves to play and wrestle with her siblings, as well as cuddle with each other after the game sessions. The young furballs are friendly and open-minded and are now urgently looking for their own families. Of course, they don't know much about "the world" yet, although they have certainly had some adventures in their short lives. Joy still has a lot to learn, like all young dogs: house training, relaxed walking on a leash, and even being alone. She can already drive a car :-) Now it's time for Joy to grow up with loving and patient people. Joy wants a soft, cuddly bed, many cuddle sessions every day, and nice walks together. In short: a life with love and security. Please note: The feedback from the animal shelters reflects the current behavior of the dogs here.

About Joy

What life with Joy looks like

Joy is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Joy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Joy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Joy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Joy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Joy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Joy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Joy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
