adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Joy can stay forever in your foster home! Her story: Joy's name is a program, because our sweet little Flitzebiene is pure joy! She jumps and laughs her way through life and quickly wins everyone's hearts. Joy is currently around 8 months old, weighs less than 10 kg, and is less than 40 cm tall. Our Joy has, however, a small handicap. Her front leg had to undergo multiple operations in Romania, and in Germany, a screw had to be removed shortly after because it was too long for the delicate mouse. Unfortunately, we couldn't fully restore the paw, so Joy doesn't always bear weight on that leg. She, however, has no pain, and her running joy doesn't suffer. She is a small, lively little lady who loves to play with her fellow animals. Joy is always friendly and enjoys getting the attention of people. She looks forward to generous cuddles and tasty treats. In the foster home, she has already learned a lot. Since she is unlikely to grow much more, she can be taken almost anywhere. Whether on bike tours (in the trailer), exciting walks, to a restaurant, or even to the office. With the right acclimation and the right training, all of this is no problem with Joy. If you want to bring true life joy and positivity into your home, you are at the right address with Joy! We would also be very happy about a foster home for the little mouse. Many thanks to Christina! You gave Joy her name. As of: 14.06. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vielen Dank an Christina! Du hast Joy ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 14.06.2024

About Joy

What life with Joy looks like

Joy is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Joy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Joy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Joy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Joy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Joy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Joy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Joy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
