NOT AVAILABLE 🐱 Name: Juan (m) 🎂 Birthday: ca. 4/2025 📌 Location: Cyprus, at PS 🏡 Housing: no unsecured roam, no single housing Best Friend: Luiza Hello, I'm (Don) Juan! I've been through a lot... at just 3 weeks old, I was found with several injuries. But I've fought and am now fitter than ever, smart, and playful. I wrap everyone around my paw, because as my name suggests, I'm a big cuddler and lap cat. When I've played it out with Luiza, I lay on your lap and take a little nap. I'm looking for a home with lots and lots of love, preferably with my best friend Luiza, we make a perfect pair. If you have room for a brave heartbreaker, write quickly to Heroes for Cyprus Cats! My journey to you will include microchipping, vaccinations, FIV/FelV testing, and I'll be in possession of an EU pet passport. -------------------------------------------------- Who are the Heroes behind Heroes for Cyprus Cats We at Heroes for Cyprus Cats are an engaged team of animal rescuers from Cyprus, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, dedicated to improving the well-being of street cats on Cyprus. Our goal is to make a lasting impact on their lives. Our local team in Cyprus feeds, sterilizes, and cares for sick or injured cats on the streets and in colonies. When necessary, we bring them into foster homes where they wait in a safe environment for their families. Additionally, we maintain a strong online presence, process adoption inquiries, and provide support at the airport. Street cats in Cyprus suffer greatly and are often victims of car accidents or cruel mistreatment. Many simply starve or die from untreated illnesses. We rescue them from this sad fate and work tirelessly to find them a loving, safe home. We place great value on a collegial, transparent, and respectful relationship within our team and with potential adopters. For us, adopting a cat is only the beginning. We commit to supporting our rescued cats and their new families for a lifetime. Together, we make a difference, for every single cat. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

About Juan

What life with Juan looks like

Juan is a large young adult cat waiting at Heroes for Cyprus Cats / Zypernkatzen in Kirchheim bei München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Juan, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Juan?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Heroes for Cyprus Cats / Zypernkatzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Juan on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Juan if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Heroes for Cyprus Cats / Zypernkatzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Juan already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Juan isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Heroes for Cyprus Cats / Zypernkatzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Juan and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
