adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Julchen has found her home! Her story: The pretty girl is about one and a half years old and has a shoulder height of around 30 cm. A wonderful size to take Julchen on walks. Her fur is gold-gray-striped and a bit scruffy – she looks playful, a little wild, and invites cuddles and petting. Julchen is a small, gentle female dog, absolutely people-oriented and cuddly. At first, she is a bit reserved, but not afraid. She meets other dogs openly, friendly, and playful. Cats find her a bit strange at first, but what can't be, can still be. We don't know much about Julchen's past, as she was found on the streets in Romania. But that the charming female dog did not have a life under the roof of a loving family until now is certain. She could accompany you on walks, understand the safety of a leash, and learn about indoor cleanliness, which she did not need on the streets. Julchen could experience something new: being welcomed and loved. To grow together with her, look for professional dog training schools that have experience with shelter dogs. Take care of your new companion, because no one is helped if our four-legged friends build up fears. If Julchen feels that you are by her side, she can trust you and become a wonderful companion. If you would like to have our little mouse forever in your midst and provide her with a cozy home, feel free to contact us. You can also visit her at her foster home. Julchen is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and has an EU pet passport. She is on stand: 01.09.

About Julchen

What life with Julchen looks like

Julchen is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Julchen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Julchen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Julchen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Julchen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Julchen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Julchen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Julchen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
