Julek is a small dog with a big heart. He arrived at our shelter in September and just survived his first winter behind bars. For such little ones, an animal shelter isn’t just a temporary sadness… it’s daily loneliness. And yet, Julek still trusts humans. He still looks for someone who will look at him and say, “come little one, you’re safe now.” Julek is about 7 years old and is exactly the kind of dog that many people dream of: small, calm, and well-behaved, healthy and problem-free despite everything he’s gone through. The happiest he is when close to a human. With his caregiver, he blossoms—becoming confident, calm, and simply happy. This is the type of dog who: loves peaceful walks, will snuggle into a blanket on the couch in the evening, and will be grateful for every minute spent together. He doesn’t need much. Just a home.
