Julia

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 6 months

Temperament: friendly Julia alongside her sisters Johanna and Jenna were brought to our shelter by a kind rescuer who contacted ROLDA seeking refuge for them away from the dangers of street life. The three siblings are now in the wonderful care of our shelter team and are learning to interact, play and have fun whilst they await their forever homes. Julia has a very sweet nature but is still learning to adapt to new people and to shelter life. Very nervous at first, Julia is hesitant to approach and doesn’t always seek out a fuss but we have seen glimmers of hope and a brave nature just waiting to be nourished by the right family. Julia is going to need a family who have some experience with shy dogs and who are comfortable working at her pace to continue to bring out the best in her. A puppy like her deserves to experience love, fun and a heap of happiness and we are looking for a family who can bring just that. Julia’s adopters should also be willing to teach her all of the basics including loose lead walking and house training. Observations: very nervous Preferences: A kind family Available adoption in: UK, Sweden

About Julia

What life with Julia looks like

Julia is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at ROLDA in Galati.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Julia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Julia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ROLDA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Julia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Julia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ROLDA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Julia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Julia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ROLDA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Julia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
