Julius

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel · Male · Young · 2 years

Julius would like a home with his best friend Jules 21-09-26 Julius has come to us from a breeder with his best friend Jules, and these two are incredibly bonded. They love being together and take great comfort from one another, so we would really love to find them a home where they can continue their journey together. Julius is a very worried boy who is currently feeling overwhelmed to find himself here. He is quite worried about being handled, so will initially run away from you and hide, but once in your arms he does settle, he just needs time and TLC as he starts to come out of his shell. He has already discovered the joy of soft toys, which is very sweet to see, though he can sometimes grumble at other dogs when they are approaching the toys and start to guard them from them, so this is something his new adopters would need to be able to work with him with. Julius will be looking for a calm and quiet home with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and understand that he will need to settle in completely at his own pace. We would consider a home with gentle, dog-savvy teenagers aged 16+ who can give him the space and patience she needs. Although Julius and Jules are looking for a home together, we feel they would also benefit from having another kind and confident resident dog in their new home to help them settle in. Having another dog around will give them extra reassurance and help boost their confidence. Julius has never lived in a home before, so will need kind and patient adopters as he learns all about home life and new skills like house training. He will also need to learn all about walking on a lead and harness, first practicing around the garden. Julius is a lovely boy and with time, love and kindness he will start to come out of his shell and leave the past behind him. He is currently being treated for sore ears. About Julius

What life with Julius looks like

Julius is a young adult cavalier king charles spaniel dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Julius, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Julius?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Julius on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Julius if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Julius already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Julius isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Julius and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
