Jumper (m)

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 7 years

Jumper - a dog who has kept his zest for life. Jumper is about 7 years old and around 50 cm tall. He has lived in the public shelter in Botoșani, Romania - a place where over 800 dogs wait for their chance - for a long time. A place that would be bleak and hopeless if it weren't for dedicated volunteers who give the dogs some affection every day. He doesn't bear his name without reason. Recently, a German team was there again to get to know the dogs and give them some time and attention. Jumper particularly caught our eye during this visit. Jumper was caught by dog catchers on the streets long ago and brought to the shelter. Despite many years behind bars, he has retained something very valuable: his zest for life. When our colleagues entered his kennel, he greeted them friendly and openly. He enjoyed the company of people and showed himself just lovable. Jumper is also social and tolerant with the other dogs in his kennel - a quality that is by no means self-evident under the stressful conditions of such a shelter. Jumper is one of those dogs who immediately touch you with their positive nature. He has not given up. He is still waiting for someone to see him finally and show him that life holds more than concrete, bars and the daily struggle to persevere. Now he only needs one thing: his own home. People who love him, give him security and show him the beautiful sides of life. We are sure that Jumper will return all this a thousandfold with his friendly, sunny nature. Who finally gives Jumper the chance he so much deserves? If you are interested or have questions about an adoption, we look forward to your message. Jumper is neutered, multiple vaccinated, dewormed, chipped and of course in possession of an EU passport. A Snap-D4 test will be carried out before departure. Contact: Jumper is mediated by Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. - with pre-control and protection contract. The association naturally has the permission according to §11 Animal Welfare Act. Even after adoption, we will continue to support you - for humans and animals. Jumper travels safely to Germany and arrives in 91278 Pottenstein, where he would like to be picked up by his family. There is a secure area available. We ask for your understanding that we do not want any exits at parking lots and we would like to introduce you personally with your new friend

About Jumper (m)

What life with Jumper (m) looks like

Jumper (m) is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jumper (m), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jumper (m)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jumper (m) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jumper (m) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jumper (m) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jumper (m) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jumper (m) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
