Jurka

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! Jurka has her ticket to happiness! Her story: The pretty, black Jurka hasn't had much good fortune in her short life: She was picked up off the street and brought to the Public Shelter in Baia Mare. And that was her good fortune, because left to her own devices, without human help, the young and delicate female dog would certainly not have survived on the streets of Romania. Jurka is only about 6 months old, 40 cm tall, and especially sweet and clingy. She longs for loving people by her side who will pamper and patiently train her. It is likely that Jurka will maintain a medium size and develop into a particularly slender and elegant female dog. With her gleaming black fur with brown markings on her slender face and paws, her wet, black eyes, and her playful ears, Jurka is a beautiful young pup. Her gaze is attentive and hopeful, directed toward a better future. Jurka will surely settle into her new home quickly, although of course she has no experience with life as a house dog and knows nothing about house training or leash manners. But Jurka is an intelligent female dog who always wants to please people. She will quickly understand what is expected of a well-behaved family dog. She also gets along well with other dogs. Jurka is still very young and in a few months will enter puberty, which will bring everything she has learned so far into disarray. But with calmness, patience, and a lovingly consistent training style, the intelligent Jurka will also emerge from this phase as a well-trained and self-assured young female dog, faithfully and reliably accompanying her family in all activities. After the adjustment period, Jurka will surely be happy to visit a positively working dog training class, which will support her self-confidence and her bond to her new owner. For Jurka, we wish loving and patient people who will give her enough time to find her footing in the new situation and who are eager to fully embrace the pretty female dog. We thank the namingsponsor, Susanne L., who gave Jurka her beautiful name. As of: 24.09. This animal is vaccinated.

Stand: 24.09.2024

About Jurka

What life with Jurka looks like

Jurka is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jurka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jurka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jurka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jurka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jurka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jurka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jurka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
