Ka

Male

Ka was abandoned in a Styrofoam box on the parking lot of our shelter. The impressive guy is relatively easy to handle and not particularly bitey, but of course still seeks experienced, responsible reptile owners who know exactly what they are getting into. Unfortunately, animals like Ka are often purchased impulsively and then abandoned or "disposed of" because they are very demanding in terms of husbandry and require a lot of space. For his husbandry, a knowledge of the requirements and a rental permit are necessary, and depending on the federal state, a keeping permit from the lower nature conservation authority may also be required. Please inquire independently or with the animal shelter staff about the specific regulations. If you can provide Ka with the right home, please contact his caretakers at the Exotenhaus by phone at 030 76 888-161. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

DE·Show original

About Ka

What life with Ka looks like

Ka is a medium-sized adult animal waiting at Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg in Berlin.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Ka far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

Note from the shelter: Requires expertise certificate, landlord permission, and potentially government permits depending on federal state. Needs specialized exotic care and substantial space.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Berlin Falkenberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
