Adopt Kaami

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Kaami is one of those puppies whose story breaks your heart: He was found with his siblings (Yoshi, Sirius and Elean) next to their dead mother on the roadside - helpless, alone and full of fear. The world was never a safe place for him from the beginning. This insecurity still follows him today: Kaami is shy, not one of those dogs that approach someone wagging their tail and is very cautious towards anything that is unfamiliar to him. But he never means it badly - Kaami just wants to settle in and slowly build trust. He currently lives in our emergency shelter in Beclean, where he can have some positive experiences - but for his development he needs more: a quiet environment, clear structures and patient people experienced in handling fearful dogs. For Kaami we are looking for a home with a securely fenced garden, lots of patience and understanding for his past. A confident only dog could help him gain confidence. Kaami will certainly become a great companion with a little patience - and we are sure that in his reserved look beats a loyal heart that is simply waiting for the right people. If you want to show Kaami that the world also holds good things, contact us. Whether permanent home, foster home with a commitment or foster home - Kaami needs people with a special sensitivity. Kaami is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, has an EU passport and can travel to his new home at any time. This dog is rehomed together with the association Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. The double listing on both association websites and possibly advertising portals serves to increase his visibility and thus find the right home for him faster. There is close exchange with the association. Every inquiry about the dog is discussed directly and passed on. We will take care of the processing as quickly as possible!

Derzeit lebt Kaami in unserer Notunterkunft in Beclean.

About Kaami

What life with Kaami looks like

Kaami is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Arme Hundeseelen in Năsăud.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kaami, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kaami?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arme Hundeseelen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kaami on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kaami if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arme Hundeseelen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kaami already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kaami isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arme Hundeseelen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kaami and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
