Kaja

Mixed Breed · Female

Will anyone ever love Kaja? Will someone take on the challenge of making this black kitten stop being unlucky? She is about 3.5 years old (01.2025), curious about the world and her surroundings. She likes to lie high up, play with mice and look for entertainment. At first she is afraid of strangers, but after some time she becomes a cuddlebug, and for tasty treats she will do almost anything. She loves fishing games and isn't picky about food. She is energetic and at the same time affectionate. A master at eating everything that is (or not necessarily) edible. She is a dominant cat, strong-willed, and other cats obey her. A calm dog doesn't impress her, but if something doesn't suit her, she swats with her paw, cat and dog. The chances for Kaja to find a home have greatly decreased unfortunately, because after necessary tests it turned out that Kaja suffers from lymphocytic-plasmacytic stomatitis. It is a rare autoimmune disease - more often occurs in cats that were treated for feline upper respiratory infection related to herpesvirus and calicivirus, or in FELV+ cats, although Kaja is not a plus. This is connected with the fact that Kaja loses her teeth faster than other cats... We know from our experience that sometimes you have to act quickly, and sometimes nothing happens with the teeth for years. Several cats under our care have already been diagnosed and fortunately found homes, one without teeth eats everything, and another several-year-old happy cat is going through it very gently and so far only without two teeth. Apart from that, Kaja is healthy, FIV/FELV tests negative, dewormed, de-flead, vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, has a health book. She is staying in DT in Pszowa. She is looking for a home that is not outgoing, safe, loving. And rather without other animals, or with a gentle cat or dog. Important in this case will be appropriate introduction to the home, that is socialization with isolation. If someone is considering adoption, please fill out an informal questionnaire: After completing the questionnaire, please wait for contact from the caregiver from the foundation.

Czy ktoś kiedyś pokocha Kaję? Czy ktoś podejmie wyzwanie by czarna kotka przestała być pechowa? To ok. 3,5 roczna koteczka (01.2025), ciekawa świata i otoczenia.

About Kaja

What life with Kaja looks like

Kaja is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kaja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kaja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kaja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kaja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kaja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kaja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Jestem Głosem Tych Co Nie Mówią early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kaja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
