Kaktus

Mixed Breed · Male

Kaktus came from the foundation in Zielonka, currently lives in a temporary home, where he is waiting for adoption. Kaktus is a big talker and meows a lot, especially at 4 am 😜😜 He is also a huge eater, eats everything and always and everywhere. He uses the scratching post, and he neatly goes to the litter box. In the clinic, they said that he does not get along with other cats and should be an only cat. He loves looking through the window and chasing the ball. He is not the type of clingy cat, more of a loner, but when he feels like it, he comes and sits next to you and even cuddles. As our photo says: He is not afraid of strangers and is contactable, so we took the photos in half an hour 🙂 We are looking for a safe and loving home for Kaktus, which will provide him the best care and where he will be the only cat. A condition for adoption is securing the balcony (if there is one) and securing the most frequently opened windows to prevent the cat from falling out. WARNING!

UWAGA! About Kaktus

What life with Kaktus looks like

Kaktus is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kaktus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kaktus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kaktus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kaktus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kaktus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kaktus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kaktus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
