Kali

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

***Enchanting powerhouse Kali – simply a huge treasure*** Kali was born on 07.11.2021 and has already spent half her life in the animal shelter waiting for her people. This incredibly lovable female dog simply doesn't deserve that. She is open to every person and just delights in any form of affection. She also gets along well with other dogs. Her only "flaw," if you can even call it that, is her pronounced prey drive, which means Kali needs full attention and firmness during walks. With patience and training, much can still be achieved here. When she arrived, she was not very leash-friendly. This has already improved greatly thanks to the patience of a kind walker. Kali just wants a cozy home and loving people who will make the effort and continue to train with her. However, one should be firm, because when 62 kg of cuddly power wants to go hunting for bunnies, you should have enough muscle to guide that power in the right direction. Kali would surely be delighted with an enclosed garden, where she can let off some steam and simply express her joy for life. So what are we looking for for this lovely female dog: - People with experience, especially with large, strong dogs. - Strong people who can handle and train Kali. - A home with plenty of space and opportunities for walks and exercise. - Small children should not be in the household due to her youthful temperament. If you feel called and can imagine giving this powerhouse the chance she deserves, simply get in touch with us! You will be rewarded with an incredibly lovable, enchanting female dog who will stand by you through thick and thin. Kali is available for contact:. Walks well on a leash.

Kontakt: : (01 7

About Kali

What life with Kali looks like

Kali is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren in Ibbenbüren.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kali, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kali?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kali on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kali if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kali already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kali isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Ibbenbüren early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kali and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
