adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Kalle can stay in his foster home! His story: Our handsome Kalle is waiting in his foster home for his heart family for cuddle hours for life. The young boy lives happily and contentedly with his brother Torsten and another foster dog. Kalle has an open demeanor. He is noticeably calmer than his brother Torsten and often lets himself be dominated by him. He loves to play and roughhouse, but also takes breaks when he needs them. He actively seeks the company of his people and enjoys the quiet cuddle sessions to the fullest. He is a dog who learns quickly and easily, but also needs consistent training. We assume that he will have a lot of fun in future dog training classes with various courses. The house training was a very short learning process; he already knows the basic commands "No," "Sit," and "Stay," but puberty can sometimes make them less consistent 😊 All visitors are greeted very friendly. Walking with Kalle is really fun: The leash handling was no problem from the start, dog encounters proceed very friendly and full of joy. The nice guy reacts initially reserved to cars, bicycles, joggers, etc., but already on the second try it works much better. Kalle looks very elegant with his cream-white short fur. He is almost 7 months old and currently about 55 cm tall. We assume that he will grow into a medium to large, beautiful dog. The sweet pup is a rather quiet young dog who would like to learn a lot more and would most likely love to explore the whole world. He reacts well to treats, which makes training much easier. Kalle will feel at home as a singleton or with a single dog. Kalle originally came from Fantanele, Romania. He was found with his siblings Blanko, Torsten, Biancolo, Grete, Stellina, Flora, and Kiri on a field near a road. Too dangerous for adventurous puppies. Our animal rescuer Roxana took the young dogs with her and brought them to safety. Kalle is very likely a Labrador-mixed breed, as his mother also looks suspiciously Labrador-like. Unfortunately, the team couldn't bring the mother to safety on-site because she still mistrusts humans. She regularly visits the feeding station, and we are optimistic that we will also take her into our care in the near future. However, since we only know the mother, we cannot completely rule out that other breeds, such as herding or guard dog breeds, may have contributed to the puppies' genetics. Kalle is vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas, dewormed, and in possession of an EU pet passport. Many thanks to Monika V.! You gave Kalle his name and identity! Date: 31.08.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Kalle darf in seiner Pflegestelle bleiben! Vielen Dank an Monika V.! Stand: 31.08.2024

About Kalle

What life with Kalle looks like

Kalle is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kalle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kalle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kalle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kalle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kalle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kalle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kalle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
