Kalle

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Kalle has found its own home! His story: Kalle was soon accustomed to his surroundings and adapted to the everyday life in his foster family. Even during walks and in relation to environmental stimuli outside, he shows himself to be sovereign and unafraid. The awesome male dog is approximately 6 years old and 40 cm tall. With that, he moves at the border between small and medium-sized dogs. He is open-minded, reacts well to human communication, and is cooperative. It might not work the first time Kalle reacts, but by the second approach, he is immediately attentive to his person. On the leash, Kalle walks well. He occasionally shows interest in wild animals but can be recalled immediately. With female fellow animals, he is compatible, while with male dogs, his decision is based on sympathy. He also likes to snuggle on the sofa and adores the family dog. Kalle currently lives with larger children, and he also likes that; family is perfect for him. However, he has not yet been tested with cats. We wish Kalle a rural home, preferably with a garden and people who can keep him occupied and mentally and physically stimulated. Kalle would not mind a second dog either. Kalle could be a great fit for people who are active in nature, no longer have a particular interest in childcare and puberty, and also want a slightly smaller dog that is still robust. A little dog experience can also be helpful, as Kalle already appears very self-assured after an initial period of shyness. Kalle has already packed his luggage and is looking forward to your request. He travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with his EU pet passport. Thank you, Gaby R.! You gave Kalle his name and thus an identity. As of: 15.12.

Stand: 15.12.2024

About Kalle

What life with Kalle looks like

Kalle is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kalle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kalle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kalle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kalle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kalle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kalle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kalle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
