Adopt Kamelot – der Sanftmütige

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 12 years

KAMELOT is always friendly to fellow animals he encounters on his walks. – Despite his size and appearance, other dogs generally react positively to him. If one seeks trouble, KAMELOT will avoid any conflict and retreat. If some people seem suspicious to him, like for example the vet, he tries to chase them away with barking. This often succeeds due to the volume of his voice. However, if someone were to enter the property despite this, he would likely retreat and protest from a safe distance. Kamelot is something for dog lovers who do not have high expectations of him. Nevertheless, he is something special to us. This is already evident through his gentleness and his social behavior when interacting with other dogs. And yet, he is a "kid at heart." With familiar people, he bounces around in excitement and invites them to play, crawl, and pet him. When it's time to go for a walk, he performs real joy dances. Therefore, the time invested to get to know him better is worthwhile. A confident second dog in a quiet rural area with an enclosed property would be perfect for him. Kamelot is not just a house dog. He needs a quiet home without background noise and activities! From his appearance, one might think he is a part of a herding dog mix. But nothing of his nature and character can be seen from this. Who would like to get to know this wonderful and very smart dog? Come and visit us at the animal shelter. Kamelot was born on 10.4.

10.4.2014, kastriert

About Kamelot – der Sanftmütige

What life with Kamelot – der Sanftmütige looks like

Kamelot – der Sanftmütige is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein SOM e.V. (Tierheim Pfaffengrün) in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kamelot – der Sanftmütige, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kamelot – der Sanftmütige?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein SOM e.V. (Tierheim Pfaffengrün) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kamelot – der Sanftmütige on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kamelot – der Sanftmütige if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein SOM e.V. (Tierheim Pfaffengrün) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kamelot – der Sanftmütige already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kamelot – der Sanftmütige isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein SOM e.V. (Tierheim Pfaffengrün) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kamelot – der Sanftmütige and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
