Adopt Karmel

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Hello, I'm Karmel! I was born in September 2025 and I'm a small, happy puppy who loves people. I adapt well to new situations. I enjoy meeting new people, get along well with children, other dogs, and even cats. I'm friendly and social, so I quickly win the affection of anyone I meet. I ended up at the animal shelter not because I'm a "bad" dog, but because I struggle greatly with loneliness. When my caregiver returned to work, separation anxiety began to appear. I had never worked with a behaviorist or trainer before, so the problem worsened. When my caregiver was away, I became very stressed and destroyed the apartment. Additionally, the landlord of the rented apartment no longer agreed to my continued stay there. I'm looking for a patient and responsible home that will understand my difficulties and help me learn to be comfortable being alone. I'm still young, so with the right training, support, and sense of security, I have a great chance to become a wonderful companion for many years. I have up-to-date vaccinations and deworming. Soon, I'll also be getting a neutering procedure. Could it be you who will show me that people can give a real home and a sense of security?

About Karmel

What life with Karmel looks like

Karmel is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Karmel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Karmel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Karmel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Karmel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Karmel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Karmel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Karmel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
