Karpador

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 3 months

Hello, I’m little Karpador! Together with my three siblings and my mom, I was safely rescued and brought to the animal shelter. My mom clearly hasn’t had close contact with people for quite some time now—she’s extremely afraid of you two-legged creatures and flees as soon as anyone enters the room. Of course, we kittens initially took a bit of our cue from her—but day by day, we’re realizing more and more that people can actually be pretty cool. Now, we watch the caregivers cleaning with interest and happily tiptoe around their legs from time to time. We especially love it when someone comes into the room with a cat teaser or similar toy—typical kitten behavior, really. We’re not yet very keen on being touched, but we’re still young and have plenty of time to build trust in humans. My siblings and I absolutely love playing and cuddling together. That’s why we’ll only ever move out of the shelter together, either as a group of kittens or accompanied by an already existing young cat. At the time of our departure, my siblings and I received the “veterinary starter package”—which means we’ve been double-vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for fleas and worms. Do you have a big heart and would like to show us—with your time and patience—that people can be totally awesome? Then please get in touch with our caregivers at the animal shelter. I’d love to meet you! Your Karpador

Euer Karpador

About Karpador

What life with Karpador looks like

Karpador is a extra-large puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. in Remagen.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Karpador, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Karpador?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Karpador on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Karpador if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Karpador already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Karpador isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim u. Tierschutzverein Kreis Ahrweiler e.V. / Tierheim Remagen. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Karpador and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
