adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Katharina has found her home! Her story: 81929 Munich. Katharina could travel to her foster home and is already settling in well. She is incredibly loving and very open and curious with people and other dogs. And she is also beautiful with her wonderful, white-beige fur. Originally, she came from Fantanele, Romania: Katharina and her brother Thymian were found near a highway. It is a miracle that the two of them survived at all. The beautiful Katharina is a very friendly dog. She loves people very much and is not the least bit shy, even though she must have experienced quite a bit. Katharina will not let the opportunity pass to get many cuddles from people whenever it arises. She loves to cuddle. Currently, Katharina weighs around 18 kg and will likely continue to grow, with an estimated medium size of around 50 cm. She plays, puppy-like, very much with her brother and gets along well with other dogs. Cats have not yet been tested. Walking on a leash is also going very well. Katharina is looking for people who will not have too many expectations of her and will show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a young dog and has a lot to learn. She is looking forward to her new life with nature walks, many cuddle hours, and also a visit to the dog training class. In the first year of life, dogs should be left alone as little as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals upside down. They “forget” often everything they have learned so far, and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to be consistent— but loving—in training. Are you ready for a life with Katharina? Then contact us. Katharina travels neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She will be given a beautiful name and a chance at a new, well-protected life by you, Daniela S.

About Katharina

What life with Katharina looks like

Katharina is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Katharina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Katharina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Katharina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Katharina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Katharina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Katharina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Katharina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
