adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Keke has found her home! Her story: Baia Mare, Romania. Keke – you dear puppy…She has been waiting for her home for about a year now. Why do we always overlook the flowing beauty?! Keke is approximately 3 years old, around 45 – 50 cm tall, and weighs about 20 kg. Keke is still shy, but can be handled and is more than ready for her new life! Up until now, it was always denied to her to have her own dog bed and people around her who can close her heart and offer her everything a dog soul desires. How much we would like to see our Keke happy! But so far, they could not convince anyone… For Keke, we are looking for sensitive people who can pick up the beautiful puppy where she currently stands. Keke still has a lot to learn, but with patience, finesse, and understanding, Keke will become a wonderful female dog who will enjoy life by the side of her two-legged friends. It is important to us in any case to have a positively reinforced training style – because Keke has suffered enough in her life. After an adjustment period, she might also enjoy a visit to a dog training class that works positively, too. Otherwise, she looks forward to beautiful adventures in nature, regular contact with her fellow animals, and a life full of love! Keke travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She brings her EU pet passport with her and can travel after a positive. A foster home could also be very helpful for her. Do you give Keke a chance? Many thanks, Ulga. Thanks to you, Keke has a name and thus the chance to find her family. Many thanks, Ursula D.! You support Keke with a monthly sponsorship! As of: 05.08.

Vielen Dank Ursula D.! Du unterstützt Keke mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! About Keke

What life with Keke looks like

Keke is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Keke, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Keke?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Keke on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Keke if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Keke already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Keke isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Keke and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
