adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Kenian has found his own home! His story: Kenian traveled to his foster home in late October and is waiting for your visit! Originally from Busag in Romania, he is very happy with his new life. Kenian has quickly settled into his foster home. He was house-trained from the start, has quickly adapted to his walk times, and also walks well on a leash. With the existing only dog, he gets along very well. The cat observes him curiously. In the house, he is sometimes a bit clumsy and may knock things over – but it's simply all still unfamiliar. With people, Kenian is always friendly, and even when he meets other dogs outside, he behaves impeccably. New favorite hobbies for Kenian include being stroked and cuddled. He would love to sit on people's laps, but at his size of about 65 cm and 20 kg, it's not so easy. Kenian is now about 2 years old and may be a herding dog mix. This is also reflected in his further characteristics, as reported: Kenian likes to play, is clever, and very eager to learn. His agile paws and eager mind need to be challenged continuously to make Kenian happy. A great idea would be a visit to dog training classes that focus on positive reinforcement. Additionally, trying out dog sports like agility or mantrailing would also be a possibility. This would not only provide additional stimulation but also a lot of fun and a special bond between him and his trusted people. We do not see young children in his household, and in a rural environment, possibly with its own garden, he would be even happier than in the city. Kenian is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He brings his EU pet passport and can be visited after a positive adoption process! Thank you, dear Sandra L., for choosing such a perfect name for this wonderful dog. As of 21.08.

Stand: 21.08.2024

About Kenian

What life with Kenian looks like

Kenian is a extra-large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kenian, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kenian?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kenian on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kenian if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kenian already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kenian isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kenian and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
