Kenjy
Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy
Sex: male Age: born around June 2022 (approximate estimated date) Size: 22 kg - medium size Date of arrival at the shelter: July 2025 Neutered: yes Vaccinated: yes Microchipped: yes Compatibility: good with dogs; children should be avoided as Kenjy is very energetic; good with cats but very playful with them, which may frighten some cats Temperament: May 12, 2026: he has not had an epileptic seizure since arriving at Canitopie; he is very playful March 12, 2026: What can you tell us about his temperament? Kenjy is a dog who is very attached to people, very sociable and especially cuddly. He seeks a lot of contact and tends to follow people around the house. He loves to lie down next to you on the sofa. On his qualities: Very sociable and extremely cuddly dog. Very attached to people. He loves contact and calm moments with his humans. What family profile would suit him, in your opinion? Ideally a home with a garden. Regarding children, please refer to the veterinary report. Personally, I would not recommend a household with children. He currently goes out three times a day (morning, noon, evening) for walks of at least 45 minutes. A garden alone does not particularly interest him if he is left alone in it. In your opinion, will he need a family that already has another dog, or not? This is not essential. If there is another dog, the family must be able to manage his bouts of excitement linked to his health condition. Does he get along well with other dogs (males and females)? Yes, he generally gets along very well with other dogs and enjoys playing with them. Some growling may occur with certain dogs. Does he get along with cats? No. Is he house-trained? Yes. He relieves himself on walks or in the garden, never in the house. Does he walk well on a leash? Yes. Is he afraid of anything in particular (strangers, noises, commotion…)? He is attentive to noises and his surroundings, but I have not noticed any particular fear. Is he used to walking in town? Yes. I live in a housing estate and he is used to cars and urban surroundings. Does he have a recall? The recall is starting to work well. He learns quickly and remains very attentive to his humans. Can he be left alone for a while without problems? Before starting epilepsy treatment, he would stay alone without crying or destroying things. Since starting treatment, this has become more difficult because he is constantly searching for food, which should ease once the treatment is stabilized. I have never heard him bark at home. Does he have any particular health problems? Kenjy is currently on treatment for epilepsy. Since starting the treatment, he has had no seizures. Are his vaccinations up to date? Yes. What is his current weight? About 22 kg. Reason for surrender: As was stated from the start at the time of adoption, I did not wish under any circumstances to take in a dog presenting a risk of biting, this point being a deal-breaker for me. I have already experienced a similar situation with one of my previous dogs, taken in from a shelter in Spain and having suffered mistreatment. Despite considerable follow-up with several trainers and behavior specialists, his aggression could never truly be corrected. The purpose of this adoption was also for Kenjy to join the family boarding arrangement where Taiko stays during my absences. The dogs there live day to day with the family and their three young daughters. Unfortunately, Kenjy cannot be accommodated in this environment. Neutered: yes Vaccinated: yes Microchipped: yes Compatibility: good with dogs, good with cats Temperament: March 12, 2026: What can you tell us about his temperament? January 11, 2026: - What can you tell us about his temperament? September 22, 2025: Kenjy, you couldn't ask for a more sociable dog. He loves everyone, he is always cheerful, and he doesn't pull on the leash...
