Kenny ♂ 🇩🇪

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Kenny is a cheerful little guy who spreads good mood with his open and playful nature. He loves to play, discover new things and also enjoys the company of people. Kenny shows curiosity, openness and is ready for every small adventure - preferably together with his favorite people. The little Kenny was born on 20.01.2026 along with his siblings and is now old enough to look for his own forever home. His mother Panni is a small dachshund mix dog, the father is unknown - however, we assume that Kenny will remain small to medium-sized when fully grown. Currently, Kenny lives at the animal protection farm Hoffnung, where he is cared for with much heart and devotion. There, he can grow up safely and gain important first experiences. Nevertheless, we wish for him not to have to grow up at an animal protection farm, but to move into a loving home soon - to people who can give him a sense of security, safety and a real family life. We wish active people for Kenny who enjoy lovingly supporting him and exploring the world together with him. He is looking for a home where he can settle down peacefully and learn the basics of dog training step by step with loving consistency. Because even though a puppy is so cute - it brings not only joy but also responsibility. Housebreaking, being alone, basic obedience and all the small and big challenges of daily life have to be learned. For this, time, patience and understanding are needed. Whoever is aware of this wonderful task and would like to accompany Kenny lovingly through life, will get a cheerful, loyal and charming companion for life. Anyone who wants to give Kenny a home is welcome to contact us ❤️ This dog is waiting at the animal protection farm 'Hoffnung' for his people - the farm itself is happy about any support so that the dogs can continue to be well cared for. DE·Show original

About Kenny ♂ 🇩🇪

What life with Kenny ♂ 🇩🇪 looks like

Kenny ♂ 🇩🇪 is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. in Biedenkopf.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kenny ♂ 🇩🇪, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kenny ♂ 🇩🇪?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kenny ♂ 🇩🇪 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kenny ♂ 🇩🇪 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kenny ♂ 🇩🇪 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kenny ♂ 🇩🇪 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kenny ♂ 🇩🇪 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
